OUCH II: Another Scathing Review of Sharron Angle by Las Vegas Journalist

John L. Smith, a writer for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, has written a scathing analysis of US Senate candidate Sharron Angle. Angle, a Tea Party-endorsed candidate, has imploded since she won the Republican primary.

Several polls now show the highly unpopular Sen. Harry Reid leading the race. Smith says that Angle can only blame herself -- although she often blames the "liberal media" and Reid's "lies." Here is a clip from the article:
God, the infallible campaign adviser, has a plan for Sharron Angle's U.S. Senate candidacy against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

I have learned this not from the ultimate source, mind you, but from a recent interview Angle gave to David Brody of the Christian Broadcasting Network.

"When God calls you he also equips you and he doesn't just say, 'Well, today you're going to run against Harry Reid,' " Angle said. "There is preparation. Everyone in the Bible, when you read the Bible, you can see that preparatory time. Moses had his preparatory time. Paul had his preparatory time. Even Jesus had his preparatory time. And so my preparation began on a (Nye County) school board."

Moses. Paul. Jesus. Sharron.

That's good company. For a hack politician to compare her journey in any way to the roads traveled by Moses, Paul or Jesus is simply audacious, but in a short few months Angle has gained national notoriety for uttering such jaw-dropping jibberish.
Jon Ralston -- a writer for the Las Vegas Sun -- also published a very critical assessment of Angle today. Even though it is too soon to predict the results of the midterm elections, the tide has certainly turned against Angle (and other Tea Party candidates).

That was a great read, and those links were pure hilarity.

I love this line from Salon, "Harry Reid has successfully painted his opponent as kooky and crazy (it helps that she actually is)."

Sharron Angle is nutter than a jar of planters.

If Nevada voters can figure that out maybe there is hope for humanity.

"Sharron Angle is nuttier than a jar of Planters."

I always love the funny. And people like Angle provide way to much raw material for the funny.

Comparing herself to Moses and Paul, an 8 on the crazy scale. Comparing herself to Jesus, a perfect 10. Implying that God has called her to help run the country and represent Nevada... I'm not sure there are numbers that go that high.

Why don't people just say to people like Angle and Palin that God has much better options and much more discriminating taste than that?

It's going to be competitive only because Reid, as majority leader, is a national target of the GOP (like Daschle). He is also from a purple state. But this is the best opponent he could have received.

Agree. Agree. Agree. That last sentence almost makes you wonder if God is on Reid's side.

Whoa! I think you may have talked about this somewhere before, but I think this is just BEYOND anything I envisioned. I used to find it unimaginable that people actually voted for Bush in 2004. A 2004 vote for Bush is tame compared to most of the stuff that happened in the past 18 months. Most of the stuff that happened in the past 18 months looks perfectly rational and normal compared to this chick.

Forget wondering how she got to be on a ballot and how she got people to vote for her. How is she not institutionalized and on a consistent medication regimen carefully monitored by a psychiatrist? She actually manages to make Bachmann NOT look bat shit crazy in comparison - something that should be impossible.
