Ahem
Well, at least they are catching up. Now Charlie Savage, a mainstream card-carrying journalist, has reported that Obama has claimed authority to engage in some of the most disparaged practices of the Bush administration -- such as using rendition and invoking a broad "state secrets" privilege. A few bloggers and journalists picked up on this a while ago. But this is still an interesting development. I am particularly interested in how progressives will respond.

Oops, try that Charlie Savage link again - here's Greenwald:

Here's the link you were trying for:

Darren, fuck if I know. I'm a dissident. I like free trade. I like helping people. I like balancing the budget. I like social programs that keep people from sweating over basics, I like inclusion, I like jobs, I like sensible environmentalism and muscle cars, I like people who work hard whether for a paycheck or a good deed, I like people who think rather than accept FUD and urban legends, I like people who think out of the box, I like mysteries that let me know we don't have reality close to nailed (try Michael Brooks book on 13 things that don't make sense), I like and hate China at the same time.
And here's one I missed from Glenn Greenwald, will try html tags this time:
Glenn speaks, mere mortals listen
Decidere - I think we are highly compatible....
Decidere (and everyone else): I fixed the link to the NY Times article. Thanks for the tip.
Also - I saw the Greenwald stuff. He actually cited me - so hey, some progressive are not scared of dissent.
